Posters with political content were put up overnight at several party offices in Berlin, the German news agency dpa reported Thursday. The offices, in Britz, Kreuzberg and on Uhlandstrasse, belonged to the Christian Democratic Union (CDU); the wording of the posters was not disclosed.
In Kreuzberg, riot police officers saw three people putting up posters at a party office, according to dpa. The group fled when they spotted the patrol car. A 25-year-old suspect was detained nearby, and officers found more posters with the same content in her backpack. She was released after her personal details were recorded. She is presumed innocent.
Citing a suspected political motive, the state security division of the State Criminal Police Office took over the property damage investigation.
