Suspected mounts for hidden cameras have again been found on the Lichtenberg campus of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR) in the Friedrichsfelde district. According to police, a witness spotted several such devices in women's toilets at around 11:45 a.m. on Monday. Officers seized the items; no cameras were found. Police are investigating a suspected violation of intimate privacy. The toilets were open to the public.

It is unclear whether the find is linked to an earlier case. On June 10, according to police, female students discovered hidden cameras in women's toilets on the same campus. Last Wednesday, the State Criminal Police Office and Police Directorate 3, acting for prosecutors, searched the home of a 66-year-old suspect. He was released after questioning, and seized storage devices are being analysed. He is presumed innocent.

The HWR said it would check toilets and sanitary areas much more strictly and document all checks in full. The GdP police union said it was appalled. "There must be no room whatsoever for voyeurs," GdP spokesman Benjamin Jendro said.
