SOFIX jumps 6.06% to 1,838 points as Eurohold soars almost 23%
The Bulgarian Stock Exchange's main index is at its highest since November 2007. Eurohold Bulgaria rose 22.94% to €2.68 and applied to move to the EuroBridge segment.
The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) in Sofia rallied strongly on Thursday. SOFIX, the main index of key shares, jumped 6.06% (105 points) to 1,838.43. It was the tenth straight session of gains (own calculation based on BTA). According to BTA, the index was last higher on 8 November 2007, at 1,860.97 points. Its record close is 1,952.4 points.
BGBX40 (the 40 most traded shares) rose 4.59% to 283.93 points, BGTR30 2.05% to 1,246.03 and BGREIT (property funds) 0.50% to 246.72. Only beamX (growth market for small firms) slipped 0.32% to 133.58. Main market turnover was €4.78 million.
The driver was energy holding Eurohold Bulgaria (owner of Elektrohold and Solars Energy). Its shares rose 22.94% to €2.68 in 110 trades worth €345,077. According to BTA, it alone added more than 100 points to SOFIX. A day after announcing its Frankfurt plans, Eurohold applied to move to the BSE's EuroBridge segment, for trading in both Sofia and Frankfurt.
Fuel station chain Petrol rose 32.67% to €0.398. Its last trade was on 29 Oct at 16:02, with daily turnover of only €2,868 (infostock.bg).
