SOFIX tops 1,700 points for the first time since 2008; Eurohold jumps 9.5%
The Bulgarian Stock Exchange's main index rose 1.67% to 1,714.60 points, its eighth straight gain. Eurohold Bulgaria climbed 9.47% to €2.08. Total turnover was about €1.67 million.
The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) in Sofia had another strong day on Tuesday. SOFIX, the main index of 15 key shares, rose 1.67% to 1,714.60 points. According to BTA, that is the first close above 1,700 since January 2008. Investor.bg says it was the eighth straight session of gains. Since the end of 2025 (1,156.43 points) the index is up about 48%.
All indices closed higher: BGBX40 (the 40 most traded shares) +1.20% to 268.57 points, BGREIT (property funds) +0.30%, BGTR30 +0.27%, and beamX (growth market for small firms) +0.72%. Main market turnover was about €1.5 million; the day's total was €1.67 million in 426 trades (infostock.bg). Sopharma was the most traded share at €183,178; it fell 0.61% to €3.27.
The main driver was holding company Eurohold Bulgaria (insurance and energy, including power distribution and supply). The share rose 9.47% to €2.08 in 39 trades worth €135,879; the last trade was at 16:54. Fuel station chain Petrol did not trade on Tuesday; its last price is €0.360 from 26 Oct.
We found no new exchange filings from the energy companies on Tuesday. Fibank (First Investment Bank) fell 2.11% to €4.64.
