On Tuesday Prime Minister Rumen Radev broke ground on a battery storage park in the Tvarditsa industrial zone (Sliven region). The partners are Asarel-Trade, Power Profit and US group Tesla. The park is to store 300 megawatt-hours (MWh) of power at 60 MW and run from the second quarter of 2027. It is the first of three projects totalling over 2,300 MWh. The whole programme costs over EUR 350m. No price was given for this park alone, so it is not in the total.

Also in Sliven region, Ajax Group Holding plans a high-tech meat processing complex in Nova Zagora. It promises over 200 jobs; no amount was given (BTA). In Sofia, Sofia Med's SVAROG copper recycling project was selected by the EU Innovation Fund – also without an amount. The total of projects with a stated value stays at EUR 477.5m. Stated new jobs rise to 2,780. No job cuts with figures were reported.

According to the central bank BNB, foreign direct investment in January–August 2026 was EUR 3.83bn – about twice as much as a year earlier. Most of it is reinvested profit. The current account deficit (the balance of all payments with abroad), however, widened to EUR 5.55bn. Radev said the state will seek private money for infrastructure through public-private partnerships and concessions. Eurostat publishes 2025 deficit and debt data today.
