Trivium announced their eleventh studio album on 8 October: 'Crown In The Grave' is out on 20 November via Roadrunner Records and contains twelve songs. At the same time the US metal band released the title track with a video. According to Consequence, it was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's film 'Throne of Blood', which led the band to Japanese horror and genre cinema from the 1950s to the 1970s. 'Dead Inside Of Me' had already come out in September.
Alex Rüdinger is the new drummer. Singer Matt Heafy says of the making of the record: 'Facing yourself is the final quest. We had to do it as a band, and I had to do it in my personal life.' Bassist Paolo Gregoletto names Metallica's self-titled album, Megadeth's 'Countdown to Extinction' and Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' as reference points while writing.
A joint European tour with In Flames follows in spring 2027, with Paleface Swiss and Vola as support. The dates: 9 April Hamburg (Sporthalle), 10 April Dresden (Messe), 11 April Berlin (Velodrom), 14 April Bern (Festhalle), 16 April Frankfurt (Festhalle), 17 April Düsseldorf (PSD Bank Dome), 21 April Vienna (Stadthalle), 23 April Stuttgart (Schleyer-Halle), 24 April Munich (Zenith) and 25 April Bamberg (Brose Arena). Tickets have been on sale since late August.
